Frequently asked questions....
How much money can I make on a typical software sale? You can earn a commission of 20% on any software sales you close. On a small sale of, say, $25,000, your commission would be $5,000. If you prefer to provide leads that we close, you'll earn a 2% finders fee.
How many days of consulting can I expect to sell directly to my client with a typical software sale?It depends on you and your client's needs. A simple software install with basic training can provide 26 days, while implementing chargebacks (Level 5) typically delivers 34 billable days.
What does it cost to become certified?Certification requires that you complete our five-day implementor training program at the deeply discounted cost of $750.
Is this a difficult sale?Yes and no. The most significant client objection to a sale is that the implementation process takes time -- 6 to 10 months. But it's an easy sell because the benefits are very tangible; it answers pressing needs; it can lead to cost savings; there's no direct competition; and it's software implementation rather than management consulting.
In what ways will FullCost grow my practice? At a time when management consulting is a tough sell, FullCost opens up opportunities because your consulting is now positioned as software implementation and training. In addition, FullCost opens the door to a range of new consulting services, such as cost analysis and portfolio management, setting up product and service catalogs, and establishing fair allocations or chargebacks. By the way, FullCost includes well-documented project plans for consulting engagements.
Can I maintain our stance of vendor neutrality?Absolutely. This can be sold as a business and budget planning process, with a simple recommendation that your clients talk to me about software support in parallel with your work. We license the product directly to your client in any case. And of course you'd only recommend the process and consideration of the software if you'd studied the client enough to be in a position to prescribe a business/budget planning process as a solution to their pressing needs.
Are there continuing requirements to maintain "Implementor" or "Coach" certification status? No, but we expect a certified implementor will produce some sales and keep up to date on new software releases. Completion of Implementor-level certification and implementation experience is a prerequisite to Coach-level certification.
Do you offer organizational accreditation?Yes. Organizational accreditation allows your company to market itself as a FullCost certified partner. It requires that at least one permanent employee be accredited at "Coach" status, and that the organization as a whole produces at least two sales per year.
Do you grant exclusive territories?No.
FullCost comes with a very detailed and well-documented implementation process. Can I make changes in this process when I feel it will be better for my customers?Absolutely. The FullCost implementation process presents all the steps that we have found, through years of experience, to be necessary for a successful implementation. It can be used as-is with confidence, or it can be the starting point for developing your customized implementation project plans.
How do end users receive technical support? We encourage you to provide a high level of support for your clients' business questions, which offers you an additional billable opportunity. We'll back you up with support to you and direct support of the software to your clients.
Do partners receive a copy of the FullCost software? Can I use it for consulting engagements? You'll receive a free copy to learn and demo, but not to sell or use during consulting projects.
Can I customize the FullCost software? There's a lot you can customize through configuration parameters and the way you apply it, and you can build other tools on top of it in Excel® or Visual Basic® software. However, all core software development is done by NDMA, and updates will be shared with the FullCost community.
Can I rebrand FullCost software in my consulting practice? No. NDMA is committed to supporting the community of FullCost users with updates as the product evolves, and to supporting partners in the marketing of the software. We therefore require that all software retain our brand and be registered directly with us.
Does NDMA sell directly to end-users? If so, can I profit by providing leads?Yes. You may register leads, which remain active and commissionable for a period of 6 months. The commission percentage is based on who closes: When we close,we pay a 2% finders-fee. When you close the sale, the commission is 20%.
Is FullCost targeted at, or limited to, a particular industry? No. FullCost can be implemented in any industry, as well as in government and not-for-profit organizations. It's relevant to any function within a corporation -- IT, HR, engineering, marketing, etc. -- as well as to entire institutions (with the optional Corporate Consolidation module).
How long has FullCost been been around?FullCost has a decade-long development history, which includes over two dozen successful implementations. The FullCost Partner Program, however, was just established in 2008.
