Symptom: New products (projects) are not delivered on time.

Delivering projects on time requires a reasonable estimate of the time required, and then excellence in project management to meet that reasonable estimate.


Symptom: People don't care whether or not they're on time, either because suppliers don't feel committed to a date, or customers keep asking for more and more.

Symptom: Projects estimates are unrealistically optimistic, leading to unreasonable expectations.

Symptom: People are not well trained in a project management method.

Symptom: People don't know where to go for help managing large, complex projects.

Symptom: Teams don't work well.

Symptom: Project priorities are constantly changing.
