Symptom: No one has the job of encouraging and guiding organizational improvement.

In addition to every leader's ongoing investments, someone should have the full-time job of facilitating improvements in organizational effectiveness.
This Organizational Effectiveness function can become the repository of expertise in organizational theory and methods, and can provide advice, mediation, and facilitation services to the rest of the leaders. He or she can also provide an impetus for periodic organizational health audits. If the structure does not include a position for Organizational Effectiveness, then a position should be created and filled.
