Symptom: The Standards Coordinator function may be under-resourced if the value of the function is not perceived.

The most likely reason for a lack of perceived value is a lack of delivered value. Perhaps the Standards Coordinator has not done enough to ensure an effective program of standardization.
The Standards Coordinator can assist Engineers in a variety of ways. The most important objectives are to publish a framework of standards and proactively facilitate standards decision-teams.
In addition, the Standards Coordinator can offer the service of assembling compliance reviews on demand. Once standards are set, documentation and training curricula can be developed. The Standards Coordinator can also commission Engineers to create software library routines that encourage compliance, such as compliance verification utilities and reusable modules that are compliant.
Perhaps the Standards Coordinator hasn't thought about the variety of deliverables the function should offer. If the Standards Coordinator isn't doing as much value as expected, the problem may be a poorly defined product line.
